Cooling Tower Fills
Cooling tower fills are the heat exchange media that maximize the contact area and time between water and air, driving the evaporative cooling process. They are categorized into film fills (create thin flowing water sheets), Cross-Fluted Trickle Fills and Splash fills (break water into droplets).
We have ranges from high-performance film fills made of PVC or PP that have been specially developed for use in heavily polluted cooling water. Film fills are highly efficient in clean water applications and force the water to spread into a thin continuous film across a large surface area. Film fills are available in Cross-Corrugated Honeycomb-style flutes and Vertical/Straight Flutes are Ideal for water with higher suspended solids.
Whereas Cross-Fluted Trickle Fill is designed for use in applications where the circulating water has high levels of solids, such as in river or seawater applications, as well as waters with high-scale potential. It also performs well in towers that experience high sand and silica level and Splash fills, interrupt falling water and cause it to splash and break into smaller droplets, exposing new surfaces to the air. As more droplets are created, the air-water interface is increased, allowing for accelerated cooling and evaporation.
